3rd/4th Grade Home -- "Pat-a-pan"

Mrs. Hamilton's and Ms. Salazar's classes -- we are double you up this year and provides some interesting opportunities to mix recorders (Ms. Hamilton's 3rd graders) with drums and singing. In "Pat-a-pan" we use all three!

PAT-A-PAN
Traditional French Carol

Guilo prends ton tambourim.
(Gee-o pren ton tamboreem)
Toi, prends ta fluté Robin.
(Twa prend ta flootay Robeen)
Au son de ces instruments.
(Aw son day says instrument)
Tu-re-lu-re-lu
Pat-a-pat-a-pan
Au son de ces instruments
(Aw son day says instrument)
Je dirai Noel gaiment.
(Juh diray Noel gaymon)

Willie, get your little drum;
Robin bring your flute and come.
Aren’t they fun to play upon?
Tu-re-lu-re-lu
Pat-a-pat-a-pan
When you play your fife and drum
How can anyone be glum?

When the men of olden days
Gave the King of Kings their praise,
They had pipes to play upon.
Tu-re-lu-re-lu
Pat-a-pat-a-pan
And also the drums they’d play,
Full of joy of Christmas Day.
