5th Grade Home - "Riu Riu Chiu"

Mr. Galvez's class -- we will be spending a great deal of time on the John Lennon song, but let's not forget about our other excellent holiday tune -- one of the greatest hits of the 16th century ;). Note that we will only be singing the verses listed here and on your lyric sheet.

Ríu ríu chíu
la guarda riberra

Dios guardo el lobo
El lobo de nuestra conderra
              (Dios guardo
El lobo de nuestra conderra)

Dios guardo el lobo
El lobo de nuestra conderra
              (Dios guardo
El lobo de nuestra conderra)

1. Now is come the time
to sing with joy and praise.
Singing of the birth
We’ve known throughout our age.
May we come together
With hope and peace and love?
Sharing with each other
The symbol of a dove.

2. As we find this season
Clear with warmth within us.
Maybe we will see
The meaning of forgiveness.
See in one another
Growing day by day.
Toward a closer loving
Time we all should pray.

3. Now with celebration
We gather far and near.
Seeking new relation
With those we hold most dear.
As we come together
We hope for bright days long.
So we join together
And we sing this song.
